Reviewer compares Whale Song to The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

"The book me and others read in the field and knew it was a sure fire, can't miss gift for those we loved for Christmas...is called "The Note Book" by Nicholas Sparks. "Whale Song" is not only that good... It just might be considered by some, better."

-- Chase Von, writer for The Student Operated Press by Chase Von, two time war veteran, retired Marine and author.

In his Amazon.com review Chase also compares my novel to The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller.

I had to wash my tear-streaked face after reading "Whale Song"

"I had to wash my tear-streaked face after reading "Whale Song" by Canadian author, Cheryl Kaye Tardif. I was privileged to have spent two weeks visiting the Queen Charlotte Islands recently, and "Whale Song" brought it all back. The people, places, sounds and smells were so close and so familiar. Cheryl has captured the setting remarkably well! Her characters are so well described I feel I've met and know them all personally. Kudos to a super Canadian author! Now for "The Rliver", and a trip up the Nahanni!"

"My heart strings were being pulled the entire time and I absolutely loved it."

"5 plus stars, amazing read...Just go read the book and you'll find out how amazing it is! It's completely heart wrenching...the whole book is just amazing. I seriously never wanted to put it down. Cheryl's use of words is amazing, like when she's talking about the killer whales or describing scenery. They just flow so easily across every page. My heart strings were being pulled the entire time and I absolutely loved it...I seriously recommend getting yourself a copy. You seriously won't be disappointed."

"An enchanting and uplifting tale" --a librarian in Kentucky

"A well written young adult coming of age tragedy thats appeal transcends the teen audience and encompasses anyone that would enjoy a tale well told...this novel is a haunting tale of choices made and how the repercussions of those choices can tear a family apart. It is an enchanting and uplifting tale that combines the optimistic spirituality of native myth with the hard realities of modern existence. The characters and descriptive setting will enthrall you."
